Australia is one of the most intriguing places on earth and the only country in the world that is both an island and a continent. With its epic landscapes, reef-filled seas, and mysterious constellations, Australia is world famous for its natural beauty and rugged charm.

Australia houses many natural wonders including Uluru (Ayers Rock) and The Great Barrier Reef and it is these spectacular sites that thousands of international travellers pilgrimage to every year. Australia also has over 2,000 islands and more National Parks than anywhere else on earth. It is this sheer vastness that gives Australia - and its diverse population - much of its character.

As Australians, we’re known for our adventurous spirit. We love uncovering ‘hidden gems’ along rugged coastline, in tropical rainforests and in the charming country or alpine towns that dot our landscape.

Although known for its ‘wide open spaces’, Australia is actually one of the world’s most urbanised countries. Its cities blend a European enthusiasm for art and food with a laid back love of sport and the outdoors.

Sydney, regarded as one of the world’s ‘most beautiful and liveable cities’, is the capital of the state of New South Wales. It is home to many unique architectural icons including the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge, two of the most recognisable structures on the planet. However, Sydney is most celebrated for its stunning harbour, sun-drenched beaches, delicious and daring restaurants and flourishing art scene.

A leafy bay-side city on the Yarra River, Victoria’s capital Melbourne, is regarded as Australia’s artistic and cultural capital. It is a true multicultural Mecca with superb shopping districts and a vibrant restaurant culture. Melbourne is also the home of The Australian Open Tennis Tournament and is the spiritual home of Aussie Rules Football - the most popular sport in Australia.

All of Australia’s seven states are undeniably beautiful and bursting with attractions but each has its own unique energy and personality which invites exploration.
