Etoile de Champagne

In 1979 the Etoile was brought to Holland where she underwent a total metamorphosis and was converted into a luxurious 3 decked canal cruiser. Carrying just 12 passengers the Etoile is renowned for its excellent cuisine, accommodation and service.

The Etoile is ideal for family or group charters as they can carry 12 passengers in their 7 cabins.

In the respected Andrew Harper's Hideaway Report, the Etoile was rated "Best European Canal Barge — The luxurious ultra spacious Etoile de Champagne plying the inland waterways of Holland and France".

Etoile is one of the very few owner-operated luxury barges. Jan Meijer has been Captain since 1988 and Owner since 1991. He is from a Dutch shipping family and has traveled the European Waterways for most of his life. Jan has a crew of 5, all of who are attentive to passengers needs. Many Etoile clients are repeat passengers.

Arrival of a Sister Ship for the Etoile de Champagne, La Nouvelle Etoile is due for the 2002 season. La Nouvelle will also be owned and operated by Jan Meijer. It is an 8 passenger spacious all-suite vessel featuring the same high standards for service, accommodation and cuisine. La Nouvelle will also concentrate on France and Holland and like de Champagne will be flexible with itinerary extensions.
