Hidden ItalyAustralian Simon Tancred has been escorting small groups to Italy for ten years. Follow along ancient rural paths and medieval alleys to discover the heart of Tuscany and Umbria. For the independent traveller, there is also a selection of self-guided walks that can be arranged at any time of year. In 2003 France has been added to the programme of independent walks.
Simon established these group tours after five years living and working in Milan. The tours provided the perfect way of combining his twin passions for walking and all things Italian, particularly language and literature. Simon is currently a program manager at the University of New South Wales, Institute of Languages. Hidden Italy has been taking small group tours to Italy since 1993, exploring some of the most fascinating and least visited parts of northern and central Italy. Hidden Italy specialises in “slow tourism”: well-rounded and flexible tours that give you the time to relax, unpack and really get to know the places you visit. Each itinerary concentrates on a single area moving at a relaxed pace
and the groups are restricted to 7-12 participants which means that you
can move discreetly; service is personalised; and you have the chance
to get to know your travel companions. Program for 2003:Guided Walk (May 12 to 19) to one of the most extraordinary and least visited parts of central Italy. A Hidden Italy special, the walk starts in the hills of southern Tuscany and finishes six days later in spectacular Orvieto in Umbria (good 3-star accommodation) AUD$2,750 (single supplement AUD$350) Independent walks |
